I am haunted by two cutthroat trout that I watched rise from the depths of a pooled up Rocky Mountain creek and sip dries, only to yank the fly out of their mouths on both occasions...
I hit up Colorado for a Bachelor party last summer and peeled off to do a little fly fishing in the Byers Peak Wilderness Area, within the Arapaho National forest. The hybrid Focus pictured would not be my first choice, but it made it nearly ten thousand feet up a mountain in terrain that had me nervous at times.
Also, I do not approve of the burnt orange on my buddy's head. BUT the prospect of marriage can be stressful and makes people do crazy things. Hope you enjoy my random and sporadic photos taken throughout the trip... all on my cell phone.
Final thought, I missed two cutties at the top of that mountain. Watched them rise up and sip a dry, and missed both of them like a big derp.
