Zero the Crooked
Red and white craft fur body with mallard flank underbody on a size 1 Mustad-Limerick hook. The white silhouette of this classic trout tout imitation is designed to be seen in the silt-laden waters of the Texas and Louisiana coasts. Use this for speckled trout, redfish as well as bass. Although it might not be your best bet for high visibility ecosystems, don't be surprised if you trigger a reaction strike. The red in the pattern is partially designed to resemble blood seeping out of a gill plate or an eye hole. The soft wispy tips of the mallard flank will dance with the motion of the current and, along with the craft fur, create the illusion of a living breathing baitfish that is difficult to duplicate.
